I have a very small basement. When I say small, I mean 1 x 3 meters small. I don’t like clutter, and I’ve been very smart and selective with the things that end up in the basement. If I have the chance, I either toss them, give them away, or try to flip them. I haven’t felt the need to reorganize my basement in years… until yesterday, when I had to clear up some space.
This week I managed to go to the gym twice, and over the weekend I’m hoping to go back for a third session. Also, it’s been a week since I’ve stayed away from social media: the world already feels like a better place.
Today I finally made it back to the gym. The last time I was there was on the 11th of March, and before that, the 5th of February. I didn’t do much, but it was important to break the ice and make the conscious effort to pack my bag and walk to the gym. I remember feeling so much more energetic when I was exercising consistently — my back pain was gone, and so were the headaches.
This Sunday I took the time to declutter my apartment and put items where they are supposed to be stored. I consider this as a form of meditation. The hard part is gaining momentum (it is a Sunday after all) and keeping the ball rolling (don’t sit down to take a break or you’re done!). Once the apartment looks tidy again I feel my balance is restored too and I am able to pick up my projects again with more clarity and calmness.
